A no-hype breakdown of what actually comes in Thermos kids character bundles, how the pieces work together, and when a bundle beats buying separately.

Quick answer

A Thermos character bundle pairs a themed lunch box with matching drinkware so you are not hunting for a bottle that actually fits. The Barbie bundle centers on a 12oz FUNtainer water bottle, while the Pokémon bundle adds a 10oz FUNtainer food jar for hot or cold extras. If your kid already has a bottle they love, buy the lunch box alone; if you are starting from scratch, the bundle is the simpler, usually cheaper path.

What actually comes in each bundle

The Barbie Bundle includes a novelty Barbie camper lunch box, a 12oz FUNtainer stainless steel water bottle, and a hard ice pack. The Pokémon Bundle includes a novelty lunch box, the same 12oz FUNtainer bottle, a 10oz FUNtainer food jar, and a hard ice pack. The Minecraft Girl Soft Lunch Box is sold on its own, so it is the pick when you only need the bag.

Do the bottles and jars actually fit the lunch box?

Yes, and that is the main reason to buy the set instead of mixing brands. The novelty lunch boxes are sized to hold a FUNtainer water bottle and food jar alongside food, so the bottle stands upright instead of crushing a sandwich. If you already own a wider bottle from another brand, measure it before assuming it will slide in.

Are the character prints worth the extra cost?

The prints are the visible difference, but the bundle price is doing more work than the graphics. At catalog pricing, the Barbie bundle is $25.79 against a $34.38 comparison, and the Pokémon bundle is $36.94 against $52.77. You are effectively paying for the bottle and jar at a discount when you take the set. The tradeoff is commitment: if your kid drops Barbie for a new favorite next month, you are stuck with the theme.

Which bundle fits which kid

Kindergarten through middle school is the designed range for the novelty lunch boxes. Choose the Barbie bundle for a kid who mainly needs cold drinks and a packed lunch. Choose the Pokémon bundle if you pack soup, pasta, or yogurt that needs to stay hot or cold in a separate container. Choose the Minecraft Girl Soft Lunch Box alone if you already have a reliable bottle and just want a fresh bag.

How to clean and keep them working

The lunch box interiors use an easy-clean PEVA lining, so wipe them down rather than machine washing. The FUNtainer bottle and food jar are double-wall stainless steel and should be hand washed to protect the vacuum seal. The hard ice pack goes in the freezer overnight and sits against the food, not on top of the bottle, so cold air circulates.

Bundle buying checklist

Check what you already own: If you have a 12oz FUNtainer bottle that still seals, the bundle duplicates it. Buy the standalone lunch box instead. Skip the bundle when the bottle is the only piece you need.
Match the bundle to the lunch: Cold sandwich and drink only points to the Barbie bundle. Soup, pasta, or yogurt points to the Pokémon bundle with its 10oz food jar. The food jar is the deciding piece, not the character.
Confirm the fit before you commit: The novelty lunch boxes are sized for FUNtainer bottles and food jars. A third-party bottle may not stand upright in the bag. Measure any existing bottle before choosing a bundle.
Plan the cleaning routine: Wipe the PEVA lining after each use and hand wash the stainless steel bottle and jar. The hard ice pack refreezes overnight. Hand washing protects the vacuum seal that keeps drinks cold.

Bundle facts that matter

Barbie Bundle - Novelty Barbie Camper Lunch Box, 12oz. FUNtainer Water Bottle and Hard Ice: The 12oz FUNtainer Stainless Steel Water Bottle keeps drinks cold for up to 12 hours with no ice needed, has a hygienic push-button lid over the silicone straw, and is BPA-free. A bottle that stays cold all day means you can skip ice, which leaves more room for food in the lunch box.
Pokémon Bundle - Novelty Lunch Box, 12oz FUNtainer® Water Bottle, 10oz FUNtainer® Food Jar & Hard Ice: The Pokémon lunch box has an insulated interior with premium cell foam, an easy-clean PEVA lining, PVC-free materials, a padded carry handle, and is sized to fit FUNtainer bottles and food jars. The padded handle and wipe-clean lining hold up to daily school use, and the sizing means the 10oz food jar travels without rattling around.
Soft Lunch Box Minecraft Girl: The Minecraft Girl Soft Lunch Box uses the same insulated, PVC-free construction and is sized for FUNtainer bottles and food jars. If you already own a compatible bottle, this is the lowest-cost way to add a themed lunch box without rebuying drinkware.
